Approaches

The methods behind the work.

Every assignment is built on proven methodologies. These are the approaches we combine to make change stick — across whole organisations, learners and the wider ecosystem.

01

Whole Organisation Approach

Change that reaches every level, not just one department.

We work with leadership, staff, learners and partners at the same time, so that a new strategy, skill or culture is embedded across the whole organisation rather than stranded in a single team. Structures, processes and people move together.

02

Experiential Learning

People learn by doing, reflecting, and doing again.

Our programmes are built on Kolb’s cycle — concrete experience, reflection, conceptualisation and active experimentation. Participants practise in realistic settings, review what happened, and apply the lesson to the next attempt.

03

Design Thinking

Start with the human need, prototype fast, iterate.

We frame every assignment around the people it serves. We empathise with users, define the real problem, ideate widely, prototype quickly and test with real users — so solutions are desirable, feasible and viable.

04

Double Diamond

Diverge to explore, converge to decide — twice.

The Design Council’s Double Diamond guides our discovery and delivery. We first explore the problem space widely and define the right challenge, then explore solutions widely and deliver the one that works.

05

Open Innovation

The best ideas rarely live inside one organisation.

We deliberately open the process to partners, users and the wider ecosystem — universities, employers, public bodies and civil society — combining internal and external knowledge to create solutions no single actor could build alone.

06

IMPACT+ Exercise

Map the full impact of a project before and after it runs.

We use the IMPACT+ tool to help teams anticipate and assess the effect of their work across every dimension — on individuals, organisations and the wider system, in both the short and long term — so impact is designed in, not hoped for.

07

Flipped Learning

Content before the session, practice during it.

Participants engage with core material on their own beforehand, so that time together is spent on application, discussion and problem-solving rather than transmission. It makes group time active, personal and far more effective.

Work-Based Learning

Learning in the real environment where the work happens.

We embed learning in genuine workplace settings — placements, job-shadowing and on-the-job projects — so skills are built in context and immediately transferable, with employers and providers sharing the responsibility for quality.

Put the method to work

Whichever approach fits your challenge, we bring it with local partners and a decade of delivery behind it.
